Although the United States is a leading exporter of peanut butter and itself consumes $800 million of peanut butter annually, peanut butter in fact originated in Quebec, Canada.



Ingredients

3 ΒΌ cups dry-roasted unsalted peanuts

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Directions:

  1. For making peanut butter, place peanuts, salt, and honey (if using) into a blender.
  2. Starting on lowest speed, blend the mixture until crumbly, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Increase speed and blend about 1 to 2 minutes, scraping down sides of blender with a spatula, until smooth and creamy.
  3. Use a spatula to scoop peanut butter into an airtight plastic container and keep refrigerated.
